Sarian Martiros (1880-1972) – artist, graph painter. He studied at the Moscow school of Art, Sculpture and Architecture (since 1897) by Pasternak, Arhipov, Serov, Korovin. Since 1921 he had been settled in Yerevan and became a founder of modern Armenian Art School. In the same time he didn’t interrupt his relations with Russian art life, taking part in the activity of “The four art” society. He is the honored painter of the USSR (1960), the real member of the “Art Academy” USSR (1974), The Armenian Academy of Science, SSR (1956).
